Upload a bill and confirm what Relay read

1. Open Upload and drop in the bill as a PDF. Scans work when the text can be read; a photo of a bill usually cannot.
2. Relay reads it: provider, account number, billing period, each recurring line with its charge, taxes and fees, any credits, past-due amounts and the total. It also checks that the lines add up to the printed total and says so when they do not.
3. The bill lands in Bills to check, matched to a service by its account or circuit number. A bill for something not in the inventory yet offers to add it.
4. Open it, compare the proposed values with the bill, correct anything wrong, and confirm. Only then is the month saved against the service.
5. The recurring charge is checked against the service's agreed price the moment it is saved. A difference shows on the service, on Home and in Needs attention.

What Relay is told

The reader carries a note for each major carrier describing where that carrier prints its account number, period, service lines and fees, so the same bill reads the same way every month. Every read shows its confidence, and anything low is marked for a closer look.

Bills can also be emailed in. Each workspace has its own address under Upload; forward the carrier's email and the PDF goes through the same read.
