- A saving is recorded from the thing that produced it: a disputed bill that was credited, a canceled service, a renegotiated rate. Each line keeps the amount, whether it is one-time or monthly, when it was realized and the evidence.
- Dispute an overcharged bill from the bill itself. The claim lists what to send the carrier and by when, and stays open until the credit is on a later bill.
- An outage on a watched circuit drafts a credit claim with the outage log attached and the service's credit window, so it goes in before the window closes.
- Savings shows the total with every line behind it; the quarterly review puts it next to the spend.
